Oh hai!!! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Jaimie, and welcome to Nosh.

As the name suggests, Nosh is an eater’s manifesto – and I am the eater.

I started this blog in 2017 to serve as a creative outlet, combining my love of photography, graphic design and journalism with my insatiable appetite. While my day job as the publisher of a local food magazine also gives me the opportunity to do all these things, Nosh is my little corner of the internet – a place where I get to do it all my way, without any pressure.

The recipes you find on this site are those that I have either created, been a part of creating, or those that I have enjoyed and in some way, made my own. My focus is not on clean eating, it’s not on comfort food, it’s not on desserts and it’s not on weeknight meals. Rather, it’s a little of everything. I enjoy salads and desserts equally – because life is all about balance. Clean eating and indulging aren’t mutually exclusive… you can have your cake, but you need to eat your vegies too! That being said, I do have a penchant for meat and barbecue so you may see things lean a little in the carnivorous direction from time to time. I write about my hedonistic ways and I do so with gusto – while I could apologise for this, I won’t. I prefer not to write about myself in third person and you won’t find me breaking down my recipes into nutritional values – that’s all a bit boring, really.

I am a mother of two rowdy, but amazing little boys and married to a wonderful husband of seven years. We are busy, but live with simplicity and that’s why my focus has always been on dishes that are fun and delicious, and all completely doable in the home kitchen – food doesn’t have to be complicated to be good.

I say this so often when preparing editorial for my magazine: Food is so much more than sustenance. It brings people together, sharing, experiencing and creating memories. Cooking, if we allow it, can ground us and bring mindfulness. Even on days when I am beyond exhausted, you can find me pottering around in my kitchen because no matter how I feel, my biggest belief Is that the experience of food is incredibly cathartic.

So thank you for stopping by, I am so excited to have you be a part of the Nosh community. I always love hearing from you and really appreciate it when you leave comments (I read every single one) or email me – it makes this whole blogging gig seem a little more ‘real’. Drop me an email at hello@nosh-blog.com – it’s really nice to get to know the people on the other side of my food adventures. The other side of my story.
